Tour Description: Welcome to the city of Gagarin (formerly Gzhatsk) – a City of Military Glory, proud and courageous, having survived two Patriotic Wars and preserving the resilience and eternal memory of its heroes! Our journey begins with a visit to the historical and local lore museum, where the history of the city from Peter the Great’s times to the present day will unfold before you.

The uniqueness of the building’s architecture, exhibits, and displays creates indescribable sensations. No one remains indifferent after visiting the museum. The thematic excursion «Not gods bake pots» will treat you to a fascinating masterclass on the potter’s wheel, where everyone will create their unique and memorable story.

Afterward, a delightful lunch awaits us at the small and cozy museum cafe «Izba-Chaynaya.» The journey continues with a visit to the memorial complex, including the house-museum of Yuri Gagarin’s school years and the museum-house of the astronaut’s parents.

You will stay at Hotel Vostok, where Valentina Tereshkova and many famous cosmonauts once stayed. The hotel is located in the cultural, historical, and administrative center of Gagarin, near the central square.

An exciting tour awaits you at the Museum of the First Flight, offering various interactive experiences and chronicles about Yuri Gagarin, who paved the way to space for all of humanity. Discover the challenges faced during astronauts’ flights and learn many other interesting facts and events.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1
09:10: Arrival at Gagarin railway station. Accompanied by a representative from «TT Tour,» we take a leisurely stroll to the hotel. The walk takes 10-15 minutes.
09:30: Breakfast at Hotel Vostok. (Early check-in possible if rooms are available).
11:00:  Visit to the historical and local lore museum located in the former mansion of Gzhatsk merchants Tseravitinovs. This house, where in 1812 M.I. Kutuzov stayed on his way to Tsarevo-Zaymische to take command of the Russian army, was also attended by the future cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin from 1946 to 1947. The museum showcases the history of the Gagarin region, including the opening of the Gzhatsk pier by Peter I, Gzhatsk merchants, the Kazan Fair, Gzhatsk land in the Patriotic War of 1812, and during the Great Patriotic War, and more. There’s a significant section of the exhibition dedicated to the flora and fauna of the Gagarin region. Enjoy a fascinating thematic tour titled «Not gods bake pots,» conducted by a professional master potter.

14:00: Lunch at the interactive exposition «Izba-Chaynaya,» featuring elements of a traditional village hut and Smolensk peasant life.
15:00: Visit to the memorial complex, including:
House-museum of Yuri Gagarin’s school years, where the first cosmonaut was born and spent his childhood and youth.
Museum-house of Gagarin’s parents, gifted to them in 1961, where Alexey Ivanovich Gagarin spent his last years.
The rooms recreate the atmosphere when Yuri Gagarin visited from 1961 to 1967, with photos on the walls and numerous gifts.
The last place Yuri Gagarin visited in Gzhatsk, marked by a special glass pavilion housing his Volga car.
17:00: Return to the hotel and check-in.
18:00: Dinner at Hotel Vostok. Leisure time.

Day 2
8:30: Breakfast at Hotel Vostok.
10:00: Visit the Museum of the First Flight (1st floor: exhibition, displays; 3rd floor: exhibition «Preparation and Implementation of the First Space Flight»). The museum presents materials on the construction of the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the selection and training of the first cosmonaut group, the Council of Chief Designers, and enterprises contributing to the development of the «Vostok» rocket-space system, along with insights into modern manned space exploration. Explore Yuri Gagarin’s flight, including emergency situations.
11:45: Return to the hotel. Check-out.
12:20: Lunch at Hotel Vostok.
14:00 to 15:00: Free time.
15:00: Departure to Gagarin railway station. See you again.
